Virat Kohli, and Gautam Gambhir got into an altercation on the field after RCB beat LSG in IPL 2023. The incident that triggered the altercation involved Naveen ul Haq, which occurred a few overs before.
Faf du Plessis and his team won the Indian Premier League 2023 match by 18 runs in a low-scoring thriller.
Virat Kohli’s and Gautam Gambhir’s clash was what everyone talked about, not the RCB bowling. After the match, the two cricketing legends engaged in a heated discussion about certain incidents that occurred during the final phase. The foundation for the conflict was laid several overs before the match.
The storm was likely triggered by a fight between Naveen-ul Haq of LSG and Kohli. It is believed that the incident occurred during the interval between the 16th over and the 17th, when Kohli was involved in an altercation Naveen.
Amit Mishra, a former India teammate of Amit’s, was even moved to mediate the dispute between them. However, he ended up in an argument with Kohli. Kohli, however, seemed to have instructed Mishra instead to speak to Naveen to make him see the light.
Mohammed Siraj, the RCB’s pacer, was not happy about Naveen. His expression made it clear.
Virat and Naveen also had an awkward handshake after the match, in which the Afghanistan pacer appeared to be upset with the RCB batsman. KL Rahul, the LSG captain, also appeared to try to calm down things between them a few moments later. In a second video, Naveen appeared to refuse to speak to Kohli despite his skipper Rahul’s insistence.
Kohli and Gambhir then got into an argument over the events that occurred on the field during the last few overs. Gambhir and Kohli’s argument began with the conversation between Kyle Mayers, Virat Kohli and others.
Gambhir and Kohli were hard to stop after that incident. IPL fined Naveen and Gambhir for violating the Code of Conduct. Naveen received a 50% penalty on his match fee while Gambhir and Kohli each received a 100% fine.
