In their fifth IPL match, Nitish rana’s Kolkata Knight Riders took on Mumbai Indians. MI’s stand in skipper Suryakumar Yaddav won toss and chose to bowl first. Nitish rana, KKR captain, had to get to the crease a little early because his team was losing wickets early. Rana, however, did not manage to steady the ship and instead fell himself. He then got into a fight with Hrithik.

MI Spinner made fun of the KKR Captain as Shokeen dismissed him after only five runs. Rana, however, was not amused by the banter and walked aggressively to Shokeen in order to find out what he was saying. Shokeen also refused to retreat and spoke a few words. Rana became even more agitated and began hurling insults.

Suryakumar Yadav, among others, intervened to push the two players aside. Cricket fans were quite shocked by this verbal fight between two Delhi cricketers.

Venkatesh signs with KKR

Venkatesh iyer, who was the sole survivor of the team as Nitish rana and the other top order batters were unable to stand up against the MI bowlers. The Madhya Pradesh player scored his first ever century in IPL. Rana reached a century in 49 balls, with five fours and 9 sixes. Riley Meredith dismissed the southpaw at 104.

This was the first century by a KKR cricketer in IPL since 2008. Venkatesh has scored the Knight Riders’ second century after Brendon McCullum.
